(Video posted on Youtube by Edcadence. The song "Candy" is performed by Les Rhythmos and is a tribute to Candice Green. The song is apparently 'about Candy being the best go-go dancer on the planet'!)
It has been a while since this humble blog has featured any wild (and wildly irrelevant) go-go dancing. Given that it has been an utterly delightful, busy yet "tiring" weekend, and I have absolutely nothing at all to wail and gnash my teeth about, I am capable of doing little more than sharing this inspired silliness with you. Oh, to be the best go-go dancer on the planet! Instead of a creaking old lump!
Enjoy!
Oh to be the best FRENCH go-go dancer on the planet! That's a country that knows a little something about goddesses.
Do you suppose that in France they call it la va-va danse?

Ha! To which the only response can be a resounding "yeh-yeh"!

Perhaps I'm in an ultra-sensitive artsy mood, but GOD that youtube video was just so staggeringly beautiful! it's a video artist's wet dream...

Hi Lizzy - nice to hear from you! I know what you mean. Not only do I love the 'enthusiastic' dancing and the maddeningly silly song, but I also love the fact that it's taken off the TV that appears to be floating in space, that it has that golden, grainy ghostly quality and that the very symmetrical clip is placed asymmetrically! There's about three different layers of ghostliness going on here. I've found it fun to watch with the sound down and different music accompanying it. Clearly, I'm feeling a bit ultra sensitive and artsy too!
Are you a video artist? I would love to hear more/see your work - look forward to you project too - Yay!!!
