You know you're in trouble if a phrase like "The Mad" always precedes your family name! Do you suppose they referred to themselves that way? "No, no. We're not the Cambridge Dinleys. We're The Mad Dinleys!"

Anyway, I love reading about families like this. It makes me feel so wildly well adjusted. I've never ever murdered anyone I'm related to. I do like to have the bar set pretty low.

Ha!I know exactly what you mean! In the extended family, we are probably known as The Mad S_____'s, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I really don't know what happened with my parents - they're really very straight sort of people, coming from very religious backgrounds, but somewhere along the way decided to encourage their kid's individuality and give us more freedom than perhaps some of our peers were given. It's like a genetic aberration - for which I am eternally grateful!
