What can I say about the wonderful Eliz. Avery? She is a living treasure and I feel very lucky to have found her. She is warm, witty, smart as a whip, sees the funny side of bleak situations and has an irrepressibly generous spirit. She's had an interesting life, writes like a pro and also makes beautiful mosaics. She also has one of the best collections of children's book illustrations I've seen on Flickr. I would also recommend her excellent blog, Love, Elizabeth (there's a link in my sidebar!)

She also thinks that people going cross-eyed is a hoot, which scores big votes in my book!

This image is my favourite of a set Eliz posted featuring the one and only Charles Addams illustrating nursery rhymes in his own unique way. I love it to death.
