Elizabeth

" all of those people are holding hands and dancing in a joyous circle in the middle of a wind-swept field."

Lovely post. And with fellini directing this imagining and Marcello cracking the whip, they would all have a strange overripe loveliness and I could remember why I loved them all once, and love them all again.

Must watch 8 1/2 again.

Thanks so much Elizabeth! It's an interesting, occasionally melancholy exercise to play "If- I-were-to-make-a-Fellini-esque-film-who-would-turn-up-in-it?" :)

The one good thing about circus clowns playing tubas is that the energy needed to mutter and stutter through that ungainly horn keeps the clown otherwise occupied, thus preventing (at least for a while) another bit of evil from plaguing the world at large!
8 1/2--a masterpiece!

Ha! What inspiration, PastorF! Distract 'em with annoying musical instruments...Get me Ron Lee(see Eliz.Avery on Flickr)on the line now...there's a shipment of tubas, bassoons and fifes waiting at the docks..
Yes, I think 8 1/2 is a masterpiece too!
